Fernando in RWA Secret Postcard Auction
This hotly anticipated event offers collectors and first-time buyers the chance to purchase unique works of art by leading figures from the art and cultural world.
Visitors will be able to place bids on around 200 ‘postcards’ – original pieces of art by a variety of artists – and take part in a final, exciting auction. Fernando will be exhibiting this year alongside Gilbert & George, Maggi Hambling, Ken Howard, Kurt Jackson, Andrew Lanyon, Richard Long, Will Maclean, Alice Maher, Edward Allington, Hurvin Anderson, Glen Baxter, Jeremy Deller, Simon Drew, and Alison Wilding, among others.

Royal West Academy 164 Annual Art Exhibition
Fernando has been selected to exhibit once again at the Academy. The renowned RWA Annual Open Exhibition returns for its 164th year with a stunning variety of work from emerging and established artists. This dynamic and varied exhibition, is a showcase of some of the most exciting artists from across the country. This year’s invited artists are international photographic artist Susan Derges and Royal Academician Tim Shaw, renowned for his monumental, and often politically motivated sculpture. The selection panel includes artist and critic William Packer, invited artist Susan Derges and gallerist Danielle Arnaud, alongside RWA Academicians John Eaves RWA, Stewart Geddes PRWA, Stephen Jacobson VPRWA, Mark Prescott RWA and Laurie Steen RWA.
“Melusine” at Paribas Real Estate, London
“Melusine” 170 x 237 cm Oil on canvas 2016. This piece is now on display at Paribas Monumental Building in London as part of a collaboration between Fernando and Rise Art.
Dorset County Hospital
Fernando is exhibiting work at the Dorset County Hospital as part of a project run by Dorset Visual Arts.

Fernando Velazquez and Michael Harding
Fernando is now a featured artist amongst other relevant painters linked to Michael Harding. For over 30 years, Michael Harding has been re-creating the standard of oil paint of the same quality and consistency of that used by the Old Masters, supplying the likes of the Victoria & Albert Museum and The Royal College of Art.

Lecture at UCL University of London: The Influence of British Art on Impressionism
Fernando offered a lecture at UCL as part of the Fullerton California State University International Programme in London. The lecture aimed to emphasise the importance of Constable and Turner as true precursors of Impressionism. Fernando invited the audience to embark on a journey of artistic ideas and technique from Britain to France and back to the Uk through the contribution of American artists such as Whistler and Sickert.
Commission for Solterra
Fernando has completed a new commission for Solterra, an important vineyard in Ribera de Duero, Spain.The painting has been created taken into account the environment and the weather conditions of this part of Spain.
